In the last decade, the multisite strategy has become a popular way for churches to grow. "Multisite" simply means having two or more locations as one church (one senior pastor, one budget, etc.) Today there are twice as many multisite churches as their are megachurches (churches over two thousand in attendance.) Multisite churches are growing faster than megachurches and their median attendance is 1300. For more highlights, see the most recent information from Leadership Network. One notable nugget from the report is that two-thirds of multisite churches are mainline or denominational. This is a significant observation because many pigeonhole the multisite strategy as a largely  non-denominational expression.

PHOTOCOPIED VISION AGAIN

Once a strategy like multisite hits the mainstream, its very common for leaders to cut and paste the method and add it to their menu of "how to grow" thinking. The multisite strategy has many advantages but the benefits are blunted if leadership duplicates without discernment.
